Market this Saturday March 2nd 9am-3pm
Rain, Hail or Shine
The Olive Tree Market is back for 2013 and will hold it's first market for the year on Saturday March 2nd after the February Market was canceled due to dangerous wind conditions. This was the first market we have canceled in 41/2 years, and it was a difficult decision, but we would rather our visitors and stallholders are safe. March's market will feature new work from Olive Tree stallholders who traditionally take a break over summer to find inspiration for the coming year and to create new work. I know that there is a lot of anticipation amongst our artists & designers about Saturdays market so come along and support them!
Two of our stallholders have had an exciting week! Christine Rutherford of Monkey & Bee has just won a national video competition created by the website Forming Circles! The competition brief was for new stallholders to create a video of their first ever market experience. Well Christine won the competition and $2000. Congratulations! There will be a special new feature on March 2nd! Anita Jones is one of The Olive Tree markets most popular stalls. She is the creator of the delicious macaroons that you will find at Olive Tree if you are lucky! They always sell out by mid morning without fail. On March 2nd Anita will debut her new venture: a restored 1950s caravan that will moonlight as a high tea setting where visitors to Olive Tree can sit and enjoy taking in the market while savoring Ms Jones wonderful macaroons in a multitude of flavours!
